Integration of geophysics and remote sensing techniques in mapping zones mineralised with disseminated gold and sulphide minerals in Lolgorien, Narok County, Kenya

Even though ground geophysical surveys (especially Induced polarization and resistivity) are applied in mineral exploration, their effectiveness identification of mineralised zones is often enhanced by integrating other exploration techniques such as remote sensing geological investigations. Integrating different helps reducing uncertainty that associated with exploration. The methods being integrated also depend on characteristics mineralisation those host rock. In this study, survey (induced were to delineate Lolgorien beyond reasonable doubt. By these methods, it was found Lolgorien’s gold sulphide minerals (disseminated minerals) hosted massive quartz veins auriferous Banded Iron Formations. It controlled faults which mainly trend two directions (NW-SE) (NE-SW).
